MONTGOMERY, La. — Block High School’s defense could not stop or even slow down Montgomery High School as the Tigers cruised to a 57-26 win over the Bears in an LHSAA District 3-1A game Friday night.
Even the effort of Zorian Bowie was not enough for Block to come back from a pair of 32-point deficits. Bowie completed 15 of 34 passes for 212 yards and four touchdowns and had 13 carries for 71 yards. But he was also picked off twice.
Montgomery (3-4, 1-3) led Block 16-0 at the end of the first quarter, 30-6 at halftime and 44-12 by the end of the third quarter.
Tyreke Harbor had five catches for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Cameron Stewart led the defense with 14 tackles, two of them for a loss, while Bowie had 10 tackles.
Block (1-6, 1-2) plays host to district foe Logansport for Senior Night next Friday at 7 p.m.
