NATCHEZ — Interventional Pain Management Physician Dr. Miguel Figueroa has joined the medical staff of Merit Health Natchez. Originally from New Orleans, Figueroa is excited to be making his home in Natchez.

After receiving his Doctorate of Medicine in 1984 from Pontifical Xavierian University in Bogotá, Colombia, Figueroa completed his internship in internal medicine at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, and his residency training in neurology at SUNY Downstate, also in Brooklyn. He received fellowship training in interventional pain at The University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian Medical Center in 2004.

Figueroa is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both neurology and the subspecialty of pain medicine. He is also board certified in pain medicine by the American Board of Pain Medicine and the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians. In addition, he has the competency certificate in regenerative pain medicine from the American Board of Interventional Board of Pain Physicians.

His focus is on various spine and pain issues such as back pain, neck pain and joint and arthritis pain.

“Dr. Figueroa is a welcome addition to our medical staff,” CEO Eric Robinson. “His specialty in interventional pain management is one that has not been available for quite some time, and we are pleased to add him to our medical staff and expand our services to include his specialty,” Robinson said.

Figueroa’s office, Merit Health Medical Group Interventional Pain Management, is located at 46 Sgt. Prentiss Drive, Suite 201. He will maintain office hours Monday through Friday and will be welcoming new patients. His office number is 601-445-7470.
