On Aug. 14, 2016, Surrena’s estranged wife reached out to deputies after a series of events escalated into violence that day at her residence on Fieldview Drive.

Surrena allegedly came to her residence and first cut wires in the victim’s truck, disabling it. When the victim had someone come over to attempt to fix the truck, Surrena, from down the street, reportedly aimed a rifle at the two and shot in their direction. No one was reported hurt.

That night, Surrena allegedly came into the residence and stole $160 from the victim’s purse. Surrena then came outside and disabled the victim’s truck again.

When confronted, Surrena allegedly grabbed his estranged wife by her hair, twisting her around and throwing her onto the ground.

When he left the scene, the victim called the sheriff’s office. The victim said she and Surrena’s children were present during the event and she was worried they could be hurt along with her.

A little over a month later on Sept. 20, 2016, Adams County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Maj. Jerry Brown said Surrena reportedly showed up again.

The victim was outside her residence and Surrena allegedly came into the yard yelling at her, causing her to go inside and shut the door on him. Surrena allegedly kicked the door in.

Once inside, Surrena reportedly picked up a baseball bat and beat her, causing the victim to suffer a broken arm.

“Deputies have been to that address numerous times,” Brown said.

The victim had filed for a divorce in March 2016. Brown said he did not know if the divorce had gone through.

Surrena, 33, 5545 Mississippi 9, Saline, was in jail Wednesday on a $155,000 bond.
