Thanks to Wiggins for Weimar articles

I want to thank Jim Wiggins for his recent serious and insightful series of articles “Lessons from Weimar,” reviewing the rise of Hitler’s Third Reich and Nazism in Germany. There are many lessons to take away from this series. One idea that came to me repeatedly while reading his series is that we swore as a nation that we would never forget, but it seems that the events leading up to World War II and the war itself have receded in our collective memory. The rise of Hitler was insidious and can happen anywhere if we are not vigilant. The last two parts of the series are particularly important and should be read and reread so that we never forget.
