VIDALIA — Vidalia leaders plan to host two town hall meetings on the next two Tuesdays so residents can ask the town administration whatever questions they may have.

Vidalia Mayor Buz Craft said during the town’s regularly scheduled meetings, questions and comments from residents have to stick to items on the agenda. The town halls offer residents a chance to ask unplanned questions of the city’s leadership.

“I would love for everyone to come out,” Craft said. “We will sit down, whether in a group or roundtable and just visit. We would like to hear from you.”

Craft said the town’s department heads, including Police Chief Joey Merrill, should be present to answer questions.

“We can talk about progress, the things we have done. You can question the budget or maybe you have a question for the police chief,” Craft said. “It will also give them time to share ideas. We will certainly entertain any ideas.”

Craft said he has also invited aldermen.

The meetings will be at 6 p.m, July 18 and July 25 at the Jim Bowie Room in the Vidalia Convention Center.
