NATCHEZ — A Roxie woman was arrested Saturday for allegedly breaking into a friend’s storage unit and taking approximately $4,000 worth of items, including a wedding dress.
Malinda Hayes Ray, 41, 59 Sandpiper Road, Roxie, was charged Saturday with grand larceny.
On April 15, Ray reportedly cut the lock on a storage unit at Skates Auto Glass located at 620 U.S. 61., said Adams County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Investigator Jerry Brown.
Brown said the merchandise included a wedding dress, children’s clothing, various tools and electronics.
Brown said the items have not been recovered. Deputies also did not recover the lock, he said.
Skates has video surveillance footage, but Brown said in this instance the images were too distorted to get identifying information. He said, however, through investigation deputies were reportedly able to determine Ray’s involvement. Brown would not release specifics.
Brown said more arrests are pending.
Ray was in the Adams County Jail Saturday with no bond set.
