Dog days of summer party to benefit NACHS

Finally, it’s almost summer, my favorite time of year! Summer makes me think of vacations, iced tea and watermelons. It’s also the perfect time for a fundraiser for the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society. This year’s event will be at the beautiful home of Gary, Molly and Ainsley Wills from 6 to 8. p.m. on June 10 at 500 N. Pearl St. in Natchez.
A $30 donation per person can be paid at the door. All proceeds will benefit the homeless pets at the shelter on Liberty Road.
Everyone coming to the party can look forward to summer food favorites, such as pork loin sliders, drumettes, chicken quarters, baked beans, cole slaw, an assortment of salads and vegetables, deviled eggs and, as always, a big selection of delicious desserts all homemade and donated by our much-loved humane society volunteers and supporters!
We’ll have a cash bar available, a 50/50 raffle, and entertainment provided by local musician, Taylor Spring. I have to admit, though, that I’m most excited about our kissing booth where Ainsley Wills’ new little puppy, Nola, will be selling kisses to do her part to help the puppies and kittens at the shelter.
We’re also so fortunate to have Carl Yeatman at the fundraiser signing copies of his recently released book, “Nine Lives and Counting.” Read about his real life experiences and (mis)adventures that will sometimes have you laughing and always on the edge of your seat wondering how he could have survived so many crazy chains of events. Mr. Yeatman has generously offered to donate a portion of the proceeds from books sold at the fundraiser to the humane society.
As we all know, summer is the busiest time at any animal shelter, and the Natchez-Adams County shelter is no different. We are overflowing with puppies, kittens, dogs and cats looking for forever homes. Please visit out website, natchezpetadoptions.org, to see pictures of current, adoptable pets or come see us at 475 Liberty Road. By donating money to our homeless animals you help us to cover immediate expenses while ultimately enabling us to save more animals’ lives. To make a donation, send a check or money order to P.O. Box 549, Natchez, MS 39121-0549.
Our animals are always in need of basic supplies like food, toys, blankets and cleaning supplies. For a complete list of all wish list items, please visit our website under the “Help” section.
If you need additional information or have any questions about the party or adoptions, please feel free to contact Susan Callon by email at suscallon@yahoo.com or by phone 601-660-5268.
Please join us for a fabulous, fun evening of food, entertainment, socializing and raising money to benefit the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society. What a perfect way to start the summer!
