Democratic executive committee: Vote ‘Yes’
Published 12:36 am Sunday, May 21, 2017
Tuesday is election day. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. We encourage all registered voters to vote in this very important election.
The Democratic executive committee voted unanimously at its last meeting to endorse the school bond measure.
As Natchez and Adams County elected officials, business community and community leaders work hard to ensure a bright future for our county, we must not forget our children and their educational future.
Our schools are over 50 years old. They don’t have the structural integrity or the electrical infrastructure that will allow our kids to be successful, not to mention the safety issues.
We’re not the only county to realize they need new schools. Rankin County recently approved a 178 million school bond and there are other counties in Mississippi that have passed school bond measures.
When we talk about the future of Adams County, we’re talking about giving our kids the educational opportunities to make that happen.
There will be economic development benefits to the bond issue. Buy local, hire local and eat local.
This school bond issue fits well with in ACDEC’s mission statement “To Communicate, Educate, And Activate”
Make sure to vote Tuesday.
