NATCHEZ — Adams County Water Association was named the 2017 USDA Water System of the Year by USDA Rural Development. The award was presented at the statewide Managerial Conference of the Mississippi Rural Water Association.
ACWA was named water system of the year on March 29 during the general assembly of the 1,100 plus water systems that are a member of the Mississippi Rural Water Association. The award was presented to ACWA General Manager Ken Herring by Kent Evans, the Acting Assistance Administrator for the USDA Water and Environmental Programs.
The USDA Water System of the Year award recognized ACWA for maintaining a highly successful and sustainable water system and demonstrating exceptional management.
Adams County Water views such a prestigious award as a testament to the dedication the trustees, management and staff have for the 6,000 plus members they serve, Herring said.
