East Franklin Street tire shop owner robbed at gunpoint

NATCHEZ — Natchez police are searching for a man who reportedly robbed a tire shop owner at gunpoint after a disagreement over a purchase Thursday evening.
NPD Lt. Kenneth Stampley said the son of a customer reportedly came to Ware Tire Shop on East East Franklin Street demanding a refund from the owner for a bad tire that was sold to his father.
The owner reportedly told the man that the person who sold him was not at the store, and the man then reportedly pulled a gun on the owner, took cash from him and fled.
No one was reported injured during the incident.
Stampley said police have not identified the suspect yet, but are continuing to investigate.
