I am ashamed of our lawmakers

I heard on TV that our brave congress didn’t have the guts to do what the American people asked them to do in the November election. We said we wanted Obamacare gone! A vocal minority in some town hall meetings scared our Congressmen into shirking their duty and allowing Obamacare to pull our country into a Greece-like condition of bankruptcy. I say why replace Obamacare? Why not simply repeal the 20,000 page monster and be done with it? They say it would leave 20 million Americans without insurance. By my calculation that is approximately 7 percent of the population.
Keep in mind that some of those who have Obamacare have it because they are forced to or have it or pay a large income tax penalty. I also hear the premiums are going up by at least 25 percent this year and in some places by as much as 100 percent.
What did people do before Obamacare? When they got sick, they went to the emergency room and hospitals treated them whether they had money or not. That meant that those of us who had insurance paid higher premiums to pay for their bills. That’s not a good thing, but it beats being 19 trillion dollars in debt to pay for something that doesn’t work.
When Obama was in office, our congress repealed Obamacare over 50 times knowing it would be vetoed. Now that they can actually repeal it, they don’t.
Michelle Obama said once “For the first time of my adult life I am proud of my country.”
I say, for the first time in my adult life, I am ashamed our representation in Washington.
