Convicted sex offender arrested

NATCHEZ — A convicted sex offender was arrested in Adams County Tuesday for reportedly failing to register as a sex offender locally and in Livingston Parish.
Adams County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Jerry Brown said Jeremy Paul Holmes, 35, was reportedly found living at 110 Oakland Drive with his girlfriend and two children ages 9 and 10.
Holmes was wanted in Livingston Parish for failing to register. He was also charged with failing to register as a sex offender in Adams County and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Brown said deputies reportedly recovered a high-powered rifle from the residence.
The online sex offender registry on the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office website shows that Holmes was convicted for oral sexual battery in April 2006
His reported girlfriend, Rebecca Kay Chandler, 37, was charged with harboring a fugitive.
The children, who are not the children of Chandler or Holmes, are in the custody of the Department of Human Services.
