The Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Natchez class will be collecting beads during Friday’s Krewe of Phoenix parade to donate to Pleasant Acre Day School. Leadership Natchez members Patrick Vogt and Devin Gammill put up lights on their float Tuesday afternoon. At top, Gammill reaches for another strand of lights from Haley Whittington Tuesday. The group’s throwback float will be at the end of parade and among approximately 40 floats expected to roll. Parade goers are asked to toss beads onto the float in support of Pleasant Acre, whose students repackage and sell the beads to support the school’s programs. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. and will travel up Main Street, across Rankin Street and down Franklin Street. Across the river, the City of Vidalia’s Mardi Gras parade is set for 3 p.m. Saturday on Carter Street.
