Good news on court for community

As we enter the last full week of the 2017 Mardi Gras season, let us review some of good news from last week:
–The outside temperatures are not the only thing heating up these days. Area basketball teams continue to advance through the playoffs in hopes of a state championship. After knocking off No.1 Brookhaven, the Natchez High School girls basketball team beat host Provine to win the Mississippi High School Activities Association Region 6-5A crown. The win gives the Lady Bulldogs a first-round bye in the upcoming South State Tournament.
In the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools, Trinity Episcopal Day School girls and boys and Adams County Christian School girls advanced to this week’s state tournament.
In Louisiana, girls basketball teams from Delta Charter School, Block High School and Ferriday High School remain in the hunt for a state championship.
We congratulate all of our area basketball teams and offer best wishes in the upcoming tournaments.
–Natchez Mayor Darryl Grennell and Vidalia Mayor Buz Craft welcomed a group of Blue Bird recreational vehicle owners and enthusiasts to the Miss-Lou last week. Riverview RV Park in Vidalia hosted the third-annual Bayou Blue Bird Rally. Natchez couple Jerry and Natalie Lyles with Mark and Lori Rabalais welcomed the more than 25 motor coach owners and showed them all of the wonderful things the area offers. Saturday afternoon, local residents got the chance to tour the RVs and meet some of the people who traveled to the Miss-Lou for the rally. Thanks to all who helped show the wonderful hospitality for which our area is known.
Remember to thank all who work hard to make our community great.
