Was Ferriday police chief suspended?

FERRIDAY — Ferriday town and police department officials refused Monday to confirm or deny a rumor that Police Chief Arthur Lewis has been suspended.
Lewis was reportedly suspended following a recent incident at the police station.
When asked about the suspension by phone, Ferriday Mayor Sherrie Jacobs said she could not “confirm or deny anything,” and abruptly ended the phone call.
Alderman Glenn Henderson said he has been out of town and is not aware of any incident. He said Jacobs did not contact him about any personnel matters at the police department.
Alderman Johnnie Brown, Alderwoman Gloria Lloyd, Alderwoman Gail Pryor and Alderwoman Chryl Smith Lee could not be reached for comment.
Ferriday Assistant Police Chief Bruce Wiley declined to comment.
Lewis could not be reached for comment.
