NATCHEZ — An Adams County convicted sex offender was charged Sunday for reportedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.

Adams County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Cal Green said in a statement that Robert Lee Wilson, 50, 59 Pineview Drive, was charged with sexual battery for sexually assaulting the girl.

The alleged incident reportedly happened at an abandoned house located on East Wilderness Road.

The victim reportedly occasionally babysat for Wilson.

More charges could be filed pending further investigation, Green said.

Wilson is a registered sex offender in Adams County and was convicted in July 1983 for rape and carnal knowledge of a children under 14 years of age.
