VIDALIA — A group of 20 people help to box Christmas gift boxes filled with everything from candy and snacks to magazines and hand-written greeting cards to send to soldiers who will not be able to come home for Christmas. Volunteers with Operation G.R.I.T.S. collects items, fill the boxes and ships them. Friday night, the residents gathered at Reed Insurance in Vidalia to begin boxing up the hundreds of boxes that will be shipped this year.
