Program will be Christmas blessing

Published 1:10 am Friday, December 2, 2016

With the arrival of the Christmas season, the normal hustle and bustle of our busy lives becomes even more intense. There are activities involving our children, parties and gatherings, wonderful entertainment, musicals and plays. However, in this seemingly never-ending busyness, First Presbyterian Church in Natchez will present a Christmas program that will surely provide a respite for you in the midst of this holiday season. Our church is offering you a place to come and hear the wonderful and miraculous story of our Savior’s coming to earth, for each of us.

The adult choir will be accompanied by a small orchestra under the direction of Dr. Jim Franklin. The orchestra is composed of local musicians as well as some from the Baton Rouge area. The voices of several Alcorn University students will be featured along with other local vocalists such as Lynn Beach Smith and Lyn Norris. The Presbyterian Hand-Bell Choir, composed of musicians from several local churches, will be featured in two Christmas favorites. And then there are the children, who so often turn our hearts toward the true meaning of Christmas. The Children’s Choir, under the direction of Esther Jeffus, will be featured in “Little Yeshua.” The Youth Group, under the direction of the Rev. Denny Read, will be featured in vignettes during narrative scenes. Even our very youngest children will be at our doors to greet you and offer you a candle and scripture.

You are cordially invited to attend the celebration of “Jesus! Light of the World!” in music and scripture at the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday, at First Presbyterian Church in Natchez.
