NATCHEZ — Natchez police have not ruled a Wednesday night stabbing that left a Natchez man dead as a homicide.
Terrence Jackson, 21, died of multiple stab wounds to the chest. Adams County Coroner James Lee reported shortly after Jackson’s death that it appeared the manner in which Jackson died was homicide.
Lee said it appeared Jackson was stabbed after an altercation with a significant other.
Natchez Police Chief Daniel White said Thursday it is too early in the investigation of Jackson’s death to determine whether it was a homicide.
When asked if NPD is considering suicide or other causes of death, White said all possible scenarios are being investigated.
“We are not ruling out any cause of death,” he said.
White said police should know more information once an autopsy is completed at the state crime lab.
Jackson was a 2013 graduate of Cathedral School, where he was a member of the track and football teams.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact Crime Stoppers at 601-442-5000.
Crime Stoppers offers a reward of up to $1,000 for tips leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect.
