VIDALIA— A Vidalia man and a juvenile have been arrested after reportedly robbing a Pizza Hut driver at gunpoint at aproximately 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Elbert R. Lee, 22, 132 Doyle Road, was arrested Wednesday on charges of principal to first-degree robbery and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Patrol Commander Elgin Bilbo said Lee reportedly ordered a pizza and sent the delivery driver to 123 Doyle Road, which is not a valid address. When the driver arrived, he went on the other side of Doyle Road, Morris Road, to see if the caller had made a mistake, Bilbo said.
When the driver got to Morris Road, Bilbo said a male subject flagged the driver down and asked if he was the pizza guy. The male subject, reportedly Lee, then said he would go inside the trailer to get his money, Bilbo said.
When Lee reportedly went inside, two suspects wearing facemasks came out of the trailer. Bilbo said one was holding a rifle the Pizza Hut driver said he thought was an AK-47.
The two men demanded the victim give them all his money, Bilbo said. After the victim said he didn’t have but $10, the suspects took the pizza and ran.
Bilbo said they took $62.21 worth of pizza.
Once the suspects ran, the victim drove off and called police, Bilbo said.
Bilbo said the phone that dialed Pizza Hut reportedly led back to Lee.
Bilbo said the sheriff’s office is acquiring a warrant for the arrest of the third subject.
The juvenile has been transferred to Renaissance Home for the Youth in Alexandria.
Lee was in jail Wednesday afternoon on a $65,000 bond.
