Franklin County set to host Tylertown

After an 0-2 start, Franklin County High School seemed to have turned its season in the right direction, picking up two decisive wins at home.
After a loss to MHSAA Class 4A Lawrence County last week, head coach Trey Woodard and his team are trying to get back to .500 with a tough contest against No. 5 Tylertown this week.
“We feel like we can compete with anybody but we haven’t done a great job,” Woodard said.
Franklin County’s head coach said with a Thursday night kickoff, the most important thing for his team is to stay healthy, now one week away from the first district game.
“We want to stay healthy and we want to compete,” Woodard said. “Last week we dealt with a lot of injuries.”
Woodard’s philosophy on upsets is simple, play bend-but-don’t-break defense and win the turnover margin.
“We have to prevent big plays on defense, and can’t turn ball over on offense,” Woodard said.
The Bulldogs are set to kickoff at 7 p.m. today in Meadville.
