Thieves steal guns from vehicles

NATCHEZ — Approximately a dozen guns have been reported stolen from vehicles recently in south Natchez.
The most recent burglary occurred on John R. Junkin Drive in the area of the Natchez Mall, Police Chief Daniel White said.
Most of the burglaries have happened in neigbhorhoods along U.S. 61 South from Sherwood Drive down to Woodhaven Drive, near Trinity School, White said. A rash of burglaries occurred in that area approximately a month ago.
Thieves have stolen rifles and handguns and seem to be targeting vehicles with unlocked doors, White said.
No arrests have been made.
White asks anyone with information about the burglaries to contact Crime Stoppers. The police chief reminds residents to lock their vehicles.
