VIDALIA — A 16-year-old Vidalia teen has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with two Tuesday shooting deaths on Ralph’s Road.
The teen was arrested Tuesday evening and charged in deaths of Tyvon Hawkins and Raylon Hawkins, both of Vidalia, Hedrick said. Hedrick refused to name the teen charged in the deaths.
The arrest was not listed on CPSO’s booking log Wednesday afternoon.
CPSO Captain Phillip Webber said a group of individuals were arguing at the Country Estates Trailer Park on Ralph’s Road in Vidalia at approximately 4:40 p.m. when a gun was pulled out. Webber said shots went off and two people were killed in the gunfire.
Hedrick declined to release details about the shooting, saying making the information public could impact the ongoing investigation into the shooting.
Vidalia Police Department is assisting in the investigation, Hedrick said.
