NATCHEZ — A Natchez man was charged with bringing drugs into the Adams County Jail Saturday following his arrest for a traffic violation.

Terry Lamont Williams, 35, 8 Reynolds St., was charged with possession of schedule II methamphetamine with intent, possession of Lortabs and introduction of contraband into a jail facility.

Natchez-Adams Metro Narcotics Director Maj. Shane Daugherty said Williams’ vehicle was stopped after he left a hotel at approximately midnight Saturday. Daugherty said suspicious activity was going on at the hotel, which he declined to name due to an ongoing investigation.

Williams allegedly had a bottle with the label ripped off containing approximately 25 pills, Daugherty said.

Daugherty said during the booking process officers strip searched Williams and found 3 grams of meth hidden between his legs.

Daugherty said Williams is suspected of hiding the alleged meth as he was being pulled over because it took a while for him to stop.

Williams was in jail Saturday with no bond set.
