VIDALIA — Vidalia Police arrested Wednesday the alleged orchestrator of a June burglary of a Lee Avenue residence.

Kyle E. Tarver, 19, 396 Green Acres Road, was arrested at his home and charged with aggravated burglary and a bench warrant for failure to appear.

VPD spokesman Capt. Frankie Carroll said leads were developed in this case when the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Kenny Brandenburg, 39, 678 Coldiron Road, Jonesville, on unrelated charges this past week and found him to be in possession of stolen property.

Further investigation led to Tarver, who allegedly confessed to orchestrating the crime, Carroll said. Stolen items were recovered and returned to the victims, he said. Tarver and at least one other subject are alleged to have broken into the Lee Avenue house through a window on the side of the house that was boarded up, Carroll said. The two reportedly knocked the piece of plywood out.

Tarver is related to the victim, Carroll said.

Carroll said he did not know all of the items stolen, but said a shotgun and several hundred dollars worth of tools were taken.

Efforts are being made by multiple agencies to obtain the shotgun, Carroll said.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact investigator Clint Robinson with the Vidalia Police Department at 318-336-5254.

Tarver was being held Thursday on a $19,000 bond.

Brandenburg was being held Thursday on a $29,000 bond. He has been in jail since July 18 on charges of possession of stolen property and drug charges.
