MONTEREY — A Ferriday man is accused of taking justice into his own hands, tying up and injuring a man who allegedly molested a teenage boy.

An arrest warrant was also issued for the alleged molester.

Stanley Vernon Schickel, 44, 218 Bailey Circle, Ferriday, was charged Monday with attempted second-degree murder and false imprisonment after Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies found him leaving a residence with blood on his hands and clothes.Sheriff’s office spokesman Vernon Stevens said deputies were at a B.B. Inside the house, deputies reportedly found a man bound and bloodied. The victim was treated and released from Riverland Medical Center.

Schickel was arrested at the scene of the incident.

Stevens said he did not know how long the victim was bound or if Schickel used a weapon or not in allegedly attacking the victim.

On Tuesday, Stevens said Schickel claimed the abduction and attempted second-degree murder attempt stemmed from a complaint he allegedly heard from a 16-year-old boy who claimed he had been molested by the man Schickel allegedly bound and beat.

Stevens said a warrant for molestation of a juvenile had been issued Tuesday afternoon for the arrest of the victim, who Stevens declined to name until the arrest was made.

Stevens declined to comment on any relation of the juvenile victim to Schickel.

Schickel was held without bond Tuesday.
