FERRIDAY — The Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for the owner of a dead horse found in Ferriday Tuesday afternoon.
The horse was found in the old mill yard behind Slick’s Tire Service on E.E. Wallace Boulevard at approximately 4:30 p.m. A resident of Milltown Road went looking for his horse and called the sheriff’s office when he discovered another person’s horse dead, spokesman Vernon Stevens said.
“No owner has been located, and we don’t know where the horse came from,” Stevens said. “It doesn’t look like there was any foul play — the horse might have just been injured in an accident.”
Stevens said he did not have any information on identifying marks or a description of the dead horse.
Anyone with information on the horse is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 318-336-5231.
