NATCHEZ — Two Natchez teenagers have been arrested on charges of attempted murder for a Sunday shooting on Davis Court.
Lakendrick Washington, 16, and Jarvanti Keyon Doss, 19, were booked into the Adams County Jail Thursday afternoon, both charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of drive-by shooting.
Washington is being charged as an adult.
The two were arrested in connection with a shooting that followed after a group of juveniles reportedly approached a residence on Davis Court trying to start a fight with a 14 year old there, Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said earlier this week.
After the father of the 14 year old reportedly told the juveniles to leave the area, they allegedly got in their vehicles and fired shots into the residence as they were driving away.
The man reportedly retrieved a gun from his truck and began firing back.
The man was grazed by a bullet during the shooting, while the 14 year old was shot in the left shoulder and had to be airlifted to an Alexandria hospital for treatment.
The driver of one of the vehicles — who Patten identified as Washington — was shot in the right shoulder.
Patten said nine people were reportedly involved in the incident and other arrests could follow.
The fight allegedly found its origin in an incident that happened at school earlier this year.
No bond has been set for Washington or Doss.
