NATCHEZ — One man and two teenagers were shot after a gunfight late Sunday night on Davis Court.
A man reportedly exchanged gunfire with a group of juveniles after the juveniles, who arrived in two vehicles, allegedly came to the man’s father’s house attempting to pick a fight with the man’s 14-year-old son, Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said in a statement.
The man reportedly told the juveniles to get in their cars and leave. As the juveniles drove by the house, they reportedly fired shots. The man reportedly retrieved his gun and began firing back.
A bullet grazed the man during the gunfight. The 14-year-old son was shot in the left shoulder and later airlifted to an Alexandria hospital for treatment.
A 16-year-old driver of one of the vehicles was shot in the right shoulder. The teen is reportedly in stable condition.
Approximately nine individuals were involved in the shooting, which reportedly stemmed from an incident that occurred earlier this year at school.
The shooting remains under investigation, and Patten said arrests are expected soon.
