NATCHEZ — A Natchez man is hospitalized in Jackson and police are searching for his alleged attacker after an early morning shooting Sunday in a Natchez apartment complex.
Natchez Police Chief Daniel White said police responded to a shooting at building 10 of Holiday Apartments at 3:44 a.m. Sunday.
At the apartments, police found Devin Sims, 23, who had been shot three or four times in the legs.
Suspected in the shooting is Michael Thompson, 19, of 17 Jones Road, White said.
While police do not know the exact circumstances that led to the shooting, they know the two men were playing a dice game beforehand, White said.
A warrant has been issued for Thompson’s arrest on charges of aggravated assault.
Sims was transported to University Medical Center in Jackson, where he remained Sunday afternoon.
The incident remains under investigation.
