Sunday night shootings keep officers, deputies busy

NATCHEZ — Adams County and Natchez law enforcement authorities are investigating two Sunday night two shootings.
Natchez Police Detective Jerry Ford said a man was shot twice while walking a dog between 10 and 10:30 p.m. on South Concord Avenue.
The victim was shot in the back and foot and was airlifted to Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. Ford said the victim is in stable condition and the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Ford said police have made no arrests and do not have a motive for the shooting.
Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten confirmed a shooting occurred on Davis Court in the Broadmoor subdivision Sunday night. Patten declined to provide details other than to say two people were injured and at least seven people were involved in the incident, including minors.
Patten said the sheriff’s office plans to release more information about the shooting today.
“We are still actively investigating the incident and interviewing the parties involved,” he said.
