Brumfield to command Air Force Agencies in Okla.

NATCHEZ — Natchez native Maj. Christopher J. Brumfield has been selected to command the 97th Comptroller Squadron and Wing Staff Agencies for the 97th Air Mobility Wing at Altus Air Force Base, Okla.
Brumfield is the chief of Flying Hour Operations, Office of the Assistance Secretary of the Air Force for Financial Management and Comptroller, Headquarters U.S. Air Force in Washington, D.C.
He is in charge of the Air Force’s $9.6 billion total force flying hour budget, and coordinates with multiple Air Staff directorates to develop, integrate, justify and defend the resources required to organize, train and equip pilots and crews to meet combatant commander requirements.
Brumfield attended Mississippi State University and was commissioned through the Reserve Officer’s Training Corps program, and has served in numerous capacities at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida and Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.
