NATCHEZ — Natchez police are investigating a report of shots fired into a house near St. Catherine and Rembert streets Tuesday.
Natchez Police Department Detective Jerry Ford said shots were fired into the house shortly before midnight.
One person was reportedly inside the house, Ford said, but was not injured.
Ford said police have little information about the shooting.
“We don’t have a whole lot to go on, and we don’t have a motive,” he said.
Anthony Haywood, 30, of Natchez was shot to death while driving June 20 on St. Catherine Street.
Ford said police have not been able to link the two shootings.
“Right now, we don’t know,” he said. “We are still looking into it, but we haven’t been able to link anything as far as any of the leads.”
No arrests have been made in Haywood’s death, which is being investigated as a homicide, Ford said.
“We’re still following up on leads … and hopefully sometime in the near future, we will be able to make an arrest,” Ford said.
Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 601-442-500.
Crime Stoppers offers a reward of up to $1,000 for a tip leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect.
