In the year of 1978, I had the privilege of meeting with Muhammad Ali in Natchez while he was filming “Freedom Road.” I was working at Jefferson Davis Memorial Hospital at the time as a secretary to the doctors and nurses in the Intensive Care Unit. Some of the staff was with him. I sent for him. He came to the unit with the staff. He opened the door an stepped in asked, “Who in here sent for me.” I said I had and ran and grabbed him and we took a picture together.

I took the picture home, framed it and then took it back to work where someone stole it.
