Natchez election set for Tuesday

NATCHEZ — Natchez voters will go to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots in the municipal general election. The only race still in contention is the race for mayor.
All city voters will be able to vote Tuesday for either Democrat Darryl Grennell or independent Eric Junkin for mayor of Natchez.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Deputy City Clerk Diane Holland said 239 ballots had been issued Friday between those who voted in-house and those who requested a ballot by mail.
Voters will also cast ballots in the following uncontested races:
For municipal judge, Natchez voters may choose between Lisa Jordan Dale or a write-in.
For Ward 1 alderman, voters may choose incumbent Democrat Joyce Arceneaux-Mathis or a write-in. Voting for Ward 1 will be at the City Council Chambers at 115 Pearl St.
For Ward 2 alderman, voters may choose Democrat Billy Joe Frazier or a write-in. The voting location for Ward 2 is Frazier Elementary School at 1445 George F. West Sr. Blvd.
For Ward 3 alderman, voters may choose incumbent Democrat Sarah Carter Smith or a write-in. Voting in Ward 3 will be at Crosspoint Church at 285 Highland Blvd.
For Ward 4 alderman, voters may choose Democrat Felicia Irving or a write-in. Ward 4 voting will take place at Christian Hope Missionary Baptist Church at 301 LaSalle St.
For Ward 5 alderman, voters may choose Democrat Benjamin Davis or a write-in. Ward 5 voters can vote at the National Guard Recruitment Center at 329 Liberty Road.
For Ward 6 alderman, voters may choose incumbent Democrat Dan Dillard or a write-in. The Ward 6 voting location is the Duncan Park Canteen at 57 Duncan Park Road.
