Donald Trump speaks the truth

The Natchez Democrat has been openly anti-Trump in the past weeks and months since the presidential campaign began by choosing daily derogatory cartoons from national news outlets and utilizing diatribes from other newspapers or syndicates. In the beginning of the Republican campaign, there had to have been a large number of people who thought ill of Donald Trump because of the number of bankruptcies he had been involved in with his casinos and because of his rough demeanor exhibited in the television show that he participated in. I admit to being an initial anti-Trump partisan.

In the weeks that followed, Trump provided us all with his vision of America, with what was wrong with it at present, and how he intended to fix it. All of the things he stated made complete sense. Our present president has brought our country to its knees economically. No one can consider any new venture for fear of the thousands of new crippling regulations brought about by the administration. Our banks therefore are not making loans. Our people are not able to even maintain personal assets since savings rates are abysmal. The unemployment rates given by the administration are a joke. The real unemployment rates as having been given by previous administrations have been steady at 22 or 23 percent unemployed. The Democratic candidates both think Obama has been and is wondrous and above reproach. They want to continue his programs and even outdo them so as to rush America into the same conditions and status as Venezuela. And the leading candidate, who has declared herself the winner, has a past history of being an abettor of all the Clinton “accidental” deaths, rapes, collusion in dope running, mismanagement as secretary of state, provider of secret emails to our enemies, sleeping through attacks on our consulates and stating “What difference does it make now?” She has raised millions with speeches to her Wall Street friends while her husband made more millions with speeches to other countries who then contributed to the Clinton “charitable trust.”

The Donald has admitted that he is now just beginning to be a “politician” and that he has a lot to learn. His intent is to provide the best intellects for each problem existing in our country. He admits he does not know how personally to solve all of our problems, but he knows how to obtain the people who can help him to do so. All the politicians running for office know what their constituents want and need. Trump is starting from scratch, and he admits that he cannot without expert advice give voice to all of the wants and needs of the whole country yet. He has voiced many comments that have struck a bell for many of us on what are the right things to do on many subjects. And when attacked by other contenders, he has not withdrawn comments, he has attacked them after being attacked. Not like any of the past Republican candidates for president who have all restrained from making any negative comments about their opposing Democratic candidates for president, Donald Trump has let it be known that there will be a real dogfight with Clinton. Republican runners of the past have been viciously attacked and run over by the Democratic opponents, pretending to be too gentlemanly to offend. We used to call people like that Mr. Milktoast.

It is refreshing now to have a candidate who will speak the truth and tell it as it is, to have a candidate from the business world who can fix our economy and get the country moving in the right direction. Both political parties in the past had been taken over by the “elitist” business interests who have manipulated our government into providing goodies for them. Mr. Trump has said he will put an end to that. He will put the ordinary Americans interests first, he will put Americans back to work! His positions on foreign affairs have upset Sen. Graham and others who want the country to send troops to other countries to build new democracies. Trump will build up our military for a super strong defense of this country, but he has stated that he will not interfere in other countries’ affairs unless there is a strong threat to the USA. He is being accused of being an isolationist! He reflects the views of most Americans who are tired of seeing our CIA create wars in Vietnam, in the Middle East and Ukraine for the benefit of the military-industrial complex. And he will not be afraid to speak up when necessary with any world leader who threatens our country. We had a president once who espoused the same beliefs, Andrew Jackson. If you recall, he was responsible for the tremendous growth of this country, from Florida and Texas through to the west coast. He saw the banking elite as a threat to all Americans and he acted forcefully to break it.

We will have a man with similar vision in Donald Trump!
