A former Cathedral High School baseball standout was named to the MACJC All-State team Monday.

Hinds Community College’s Quinton Logan garnered second-team honors after a strong freshman campaign in which he led the Eagles in batting average, .345, and on-base percentage, .440.

The former Cathedral standout knocked in 20 runs, recorded eight doubles and launched one home run. Logan was perfect on the basepaths, wiping four bags this season.

The dual-threat lefty also shined on the pitching mound as he tallied a 2-1 record with 25 strikeouts in 29.2 innings to go along with a 3.64 ERA.

Logan helped lead the Green Wave to an MHSAA Class 1A baseball state championship in 2015 as he served as one of the team’s top pitchers.

Hinds finished the year with a 25-22 record.
