Co-Lin Kid’s Camps will keep children excited

School’s out for summer. But that doesn’t mean that your child has to sit around the house bored. Keep their young minds engaged and intrigued this summer with our Summer 2016 Kids College program at Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Natchez Campus. This year’s lineup has classes available for a variety of age groups and interests. Kids will be encouraged to be creative and allowed to learn through fun, hands-on activities, experiments and in some cases, field trips! Let’s check out your options:
June 13–15
Cheer Camp (Grades K-6): EAT, SLEEP, CHEER, REPEAT!! The Co-Lin Cheerleaders will teach campers a dance, several cheers and chants, as well as different jumps. Registration deadline is Friday, June 3.
Agility Camp (Grades K-6): Learn skills to give you the edge in sport performance. The camp focus is on agility, speed, coordination, balance, self-confidence and to have fun. Registration deadline is Friday, June 3.
June 13–16
Mad Science (Grades 3-5): Become captivated by the fascinating world of science! Each day a new topic and new experiments that will quench your thirst for the new, the unusual and the joy of science.
Computer Arts (Grades 2-4): Watch your computer screen turn in to a work of art! Campers create their own art using a variety of computer programs and websites. Take a virtual field trip to famous art museums.
June 27–30
Science Explorers (Grades 1-2): Be amazed. Everyone will participate in tons of exciting, hands on experiments designed to peak curiosity and teach a lesson about this marvelous world of ours.
Dig It! Archaeology Camp (Grades 3-6): Discover how archaeologists uncover mysteries of the past and what to look for in artifacts! The class will participate in a dig and shovel tests, get hands-on experience with artifacts and take multiple field trips throughout the week!
Super Software! (Grades 3-5): Explore a variety of computer applications. Create snazzy reports, cards and flyers! Discover websites and games that are available to help with homework, projects, and skills. Explore internet safety and keyboarding websites.
July 11–14
Art Explosion (Grades 1-3): Expand the imagination while experimenting with a variety of art materials and awesome projects that will inspire creativity!
F2TK “Farm to Table for Kids” (Grades 2-4): Campers will explore nature and become aware of sustainable gardening in a variety of exciting ways! Dive into the wonderful world of bugs, plants, food, farm animals, equipment and more! There will be Field Trips!
July 18–21
Art Café (Grades 4-6): Indulge and enjoy your artistic side while experimenting with a variety of materials and awesome projects that will inspire your imagination and creativity!
Cyber Camp (Grades 2-4): Campers will explore the world of computers through exciting software that includes art, games, internet safety and keyboarding.
Creative Movement (Grades K-3): In this fun filled week, boys and girls will explore the possibilities of movement through the elements of dance and create dance works of their own.
Kids are sure to enjoy the time they spend at Co-Lin this summer and parents are sure to appreciate the budget friendly fees. All classes are $45-50, which not only includes supplies, but this year snacks will also be provided. All classes are 9 a.m. to noon. Pre-registration is required for all classes and class space is limited, so sign up today!
