Local teams have good performances

JACKSON — Adams County Christian School’s Ashleigh Williams recorded a pair of top-3 finishes this weekend at the MAIS track and field state meet.

The Lady Rebels standout placed second in the discus and finished second in the shot put.

Williams recorded a throw of 107-04.00 in the discus, and then followed it up with a throw of 31-08.00 in the shot put.

Trinity Episcopal

Trinity Episcopal’s Hayes Daly placed in third place in each of the 1600- and 3200-meter relay races. The freshman recorded a time of 5:10.81 in the 1600, then followed it up with a 11:39.86.

Dee Fleming finished third in the long jump with a leap of 20-01.75.

Cathedral

Cathedral High School’s Jalen McCoy finished second in the boys 3200-meter run with a time of 10:41.23, while Caroline Kaiser placed third in the girls 800 run after recording a time of 2:35.09.
