The article featuring mayor-elect Buz Craft was excellent. His plans show promise for the City of Vidalia. There is one important item I wish he had mentioned which we had discussed and one he is very vehement about — the electric amount on the monthly bill.

I’m retired and receive Social Security and VA disability. I want the public to know how much I pay for the “EL” portion of my bill. This is common each month and reflects how outrageous the electricity absorbs the bill.

The “EL” portion of my bill was $240.14 in my bill due March 18, 2016.

I certainly hope Mayor Craft attacks this situation as he said he would during his run for office.

So come on, Buz. Let’s get our utility bills cut to within reason, so we can afford to put more food on the table and pay other bills.
