Ferriday police seek information in Friday shooting

FERRIDAY — A Ferriday man was shot early Friday morning by an unknown assailant.
The victim, Reginald Melancon, was shot at approximately 1:15 a.m. in the parking lot of the Concordia Apartments complex on Kyle Road, Ferriday Police Chief Margaret Lawrence said.
Lawrence said Melancon was airlifted to Alexandria and police couldn’t get a complete statement, but she said he claimed to have not known the person who shot him.
The victim was shot in the left leg.
“We are still investigating this shooting,” Lawrence said.
