NATCHEZ — An Adams County man has been charged with sexual battery after he allegedly forced a woman into an outbuilding before assaulting her.

Otis Lee Pinder, 38, 190 Wildlife Way, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of sexual battery.

Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies reported the alleged victim was visiting a relative in the area of Wisteria Street when she heard a male voice call her name.

“(The) victim stated when she looked, she recognized the suspect, Otis Pinder, who lives in that area,” the report said. “(The) victim stated once she walked near Pinder, he grabbed her with one arm around her neck, choking her, covered her mouth with his other hand, and drug her to a shed behind his residence,” where he allegedly assaulted her.

The report says the alleged victim told investigators Pinder made her give him money, and she fled the shed while he was distracted.

Pinder was detained on a $5,000 bond Thursday.
