VIDALIA — Vidalia police arrested a Natchez man Wednesday for rape allegations that date back more than 10 years.
Michael Adam Bumgarner, 39, 28 Alexander Road, Natchez, has been charged with two counts of third-degree rape and one count sexual battery.
Vidalia Police Investigator Miranda Clifton said Bumgarner was living in Vidalia at the time the reported incidents occurred.
Clifton said a victim recently came forward from one of the alleged rapes, and during the investigation, police were able to find two more victims. All three victims were juveniles at the time of the alleged incidents.
The first third-degree rape charge comes from 2004 involving a victim who was 15 at the time.
The sexual battery charge stems from a 2005 incident involving a 9-year-old victim.
The third charge, a third-degree rape, involves a 14-year-old victim, and allegedly happened in 2009.
For the victim’s privacy, Clifton would not say which came forward.
Clifton said she would not release any additional information due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
