Burns receives promotion at United Mississippi Bank

NATCHEZ — Samuel P. Porter, president and chief executive officer of United Mississippi Bank, has announced the promotion of Lauren Burns to assistant vice president and internal auditor in the compliance area of the bank, where she also serves as the back-up BSA officer.
Burns received her bachelor of business administration degree with a concentration in risk management, insurance and financial planning from Mississippi State University.
She obtained diplomas in general financial services and consumer lending from the Center for Financial Training, and has completed the ICBA Community Bank Internal Auditing Certification Program. Recently, Burns successfully concluded the 2015 Louisiana Bankers Association’s Leadership School, “Growing our Next Generation of Leaders,” a six-month program that included online course work and five instructor-led sessions.
She began her career with UMB in 2013 as a lending assistant.
Burns is a member of the 2016 Leadership Natchez Class and serves as treasurer, a board member of the Natchez Young Professionals division of the Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Natchez Garden Club and serves on the Tableaux committee, vice president of the local MSU Alumni Association, Kappa Delta Alumnae president, and social media chair for the Krewe of Phoenix.
