CPSO conducts multi-day drug busts, 13 arrested

VIDALIA — Over the course of Wednesday and Thursday, the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested 13 people during a multi-jurisdiction drug raid.

In Ferriday on Wednesday, two people were allegedly caught with drugs when officers showed up to serve a probation violation warrant, said spokesperson Vernon Stevens.

On Thursday, CPSO worked in conjunction with agents from the U.S. Marshal Service, Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Office, Rapides Probation and Parole, the ATF and the FBI Task Force.

Stevens said occasionally the department builds up warrants and creates a task force to help serve the warrants.

Individuals served on Thursday were:

-Don Scott, 34, 507 Florida Ave., on a charge of possession of a schedule II drug with intent. No bond set.

-Darryl Bell, 50, 110 Weaver St., on a charge of possession of marijuana. No bond set.

-Montrell Harrell, 28, 905 South Tenth St., on three charges of cruelty to juveniles, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond set at $10,000.

-Linda Leonard, 57, 111 Georgia Ave., on a charge of possession of marijuana. No bond set.

-Myisha Ray, 32, 506 Townsend Lane, on charges of obstruction of justice, possession of marijuana and improper supervision of a child. No bond set.

-Brittany Rice, 23, 505 Florida Ave., on a bench warrant for failure to appear and charges of possession of marijuana, obstruction of justice and two charges of improper supervision of a minor. Bond set at $1,131.

-Don Washington, 51, 310 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender. No bond set.

-Jamaal Hunt, 33, 605 Maple St., on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. No bond set.

-Rita Hunt, 63, 605 Maple St., on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. No bond set.

-Brenda Hudgins, 62, 353 Eagle Road, on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. No bond set.

-Lynda Richardson, 59, 338 Stephens Road, on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. No bond set.

-Michael Dossett, 36, 217 Wallace Circle, on three charges of possession of a schedule II drug with intent and possession of drug paraphernalia. No bond set.

-Tyberia Bell, 43, 605 Laurel St., on charges of possession of marijuana. No bond set.

The sheriff’s office worked with an agent from the Louisiana Department of Correction Probation and Parole to arrest Woodie Wagley, 35, and Brittany Jenkins, 28, both of Ferriday.

Officers went into the 496 Lincoln Ave. Apt. 23 residence with the intent to serve a probation warrant on Wagley. When officers entered, however, he allegedly fled in an alleged attempt to destroy drugs. Jenkins was alleged to be in the residence with drug paraphernalia in plain sight.

When officers had a warrant, they reportedly found marijuana that had been packaged for sale, packing materials, scales, smoking pipes and other drug paraphernalia.

Wagley was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violation. Jenkins was charges with obstruction of justice, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
