VIDALIA — Double Play Academy owner Shaun McDonald has recently purchased full ownership of the Vidalia-based sports instruction business.

The business, which aims to help baseball and softball athletes improve their field skills all year long, is open six days a week, from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

“We mostly offer training for softball and baseball, agility and fielding, but I’ve had a customer who wanted to do some agility trainnig for tennis,” McDonald said.

In addition to training, the business offers memberships similar to what a gym would for members to practice in the off- and on-season.

It likewise offers retail equipment for baseball and softball players.
