Locals shine in MAIS All-Star game

JACKSON — Eight local football players represented local schools in the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools All-Star game Friday afternoon on the campus of Jackson Preparatory School.
Divided into two teams, blue and white, the game featured some of the best senior talent from all of the MAIS.
Carlos Woods of Adams County Christian School threw for a game-high 173 yards, completing 12 of his 28 pass attempts for the white team.
ACCS teammate Chisum Mardis, who happened to be a member of the blue team, rushed for 24 yards in the game.
Other blue team members, Dee Fleming, Jardarius Anderson and James Allen Coley, all of Cathedral High School, played a significant amount of snaps in the game.
Fleming rushed for 19 yards in the contest.
From Centreville Academy, Tyler Caston of the white team also recorded a reception for five yards.
Other local participants in the game were Wilkinson County Christian Acadmey’s Sam Nicholas and Luke Littleton.
Cathedral head coach Ron Rushing served as an offensive coach for the blue team.
The blue team won the game, 27-2.
