Second man charged in connection with fatal shooting

VIDALIA — A second Ferriday man was arrested Friday in connection to a fatal Nov. 14 shooting.

Treyon D. Green, 19, 808 Texas Ave., Ferriday, was arrested Friday on charges of being principle to second-degree murder and principle to two counts of attempted second-degree murder.

Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office investigator Phillip Smith said Green was allegedly in the suspect’s car at the time of the shooting.

Jaccari D. Burns, 17, 8618 U.S. 84 West, Ferriday, was arrested Monday on charges of second-degree murder and two counts attempted second-degree murder.

Burns allegedly shot Ladarius Wiggins, 23, of Clayton at the corner of Kentucky Avenue and 10th Street. Two other passengers were in the car with Wiggins at the time.

Earlier this week, CPSO spokesman Vernon Stevens said investigators believed Burns allegedly fired his weapon from another vehicle to the vehicle where Wiggins was a passenger.

As of Saturday night, Burns has a bond of $450,000. A bond had not yet been set for Green late Saturday.
