Relax, enjoy evening of entertainment

Friday, The Natchez Festival of Music will sponsor a concert by Delonah Rouse Turner and Jerry Turner at Margaret Martin Performing Arts Center.

Many of you may have heard Delonah play selections on the piano from Les Miserable’s, the Phantom of the Opera, and many other easy listening works in the Eola lobby in 2013. Her repertoire includes a very broad spectrum of music from country-western to pop, from “Misty” to Billy Joel’s “Piano Man.” You might even hear a little “Summertime” and “Sometimes When We Touch.” She has performed in many venues but most notably a nine-year stint at the OMNI  Hotel in San Antonio, Texas.

And yes, this is where she met her crooner husband, Jerry Turner, a talented vocalist in his own right. His smooth and velvety voice accompanied by Delonah on the piano made the perfect easy-listening combination. Together they began a band named After Dark, which is also the name of his CD. The CD includes selections such as “If You Could Read My Mind,” “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” and “The Way We Were.” He has previously appeared with Mo Bandy and George Strait.

This musically talented couple will begin the show at 7 p.m. The program of easy-listening music (and maybe a few requests!) in an informal atmosphere promises to provide an evening of entertainment you will long remember.  Come, relax, and enjoy the evening!
