NATCHEZ — Silas Simmons announced last week the addition of Astreya Zachary to its professional staff.

Zachary earned a bachelor of business administration in accounting at Jackson State University in May of 2015.

While at JSU, Astreya was a member of the National Association of Black Accountants, local Accounting society, and the American Marketing Association. She was employed by Rhodes Financial Group and Horne LLP while in school and frequently volunteered at the community’s Stewpot.

A native of Itta Bena,  Zachary graduated from Leflore County High School in 2011, where she was named salutatorian of her high school class, a member of Who’s Who, the National Honor Society, Beta Club, local area 4-H, Technology Student Association  and was also awarded the Gates Millennium Scholarship.

Zachary is the daughter of Sheri Bell and Hal Zachary of Itta Bena, and sister of Ashley Zachary of Memphis.
